1)  PRESENTATION

Je suis un ingénieur, de nationalité Française. J’ai fait toutes mes études universitaires à l’école d’Ingenieurs de Nancy en Lorraine. Apres avoir obtenu mon diplome d’ Ingenieur, j’ai preparé un Doctorat en Sciences, (l’equivalent du Phd americain) à la Sorbonne à Paris.

Toute ma carriere d’Ingenieur a été consacrée à l’industrie pétrolière. J’ai travaillé dans une Société de Services (Service Compagny) aux grandes compagnies petrolières. Elle était spécialisée en Géophysique,  science indispensable pour la recherche et la découverte des gisements de pétrole sous terre.

J’ai été amené, pour mon travail ou comme touriste à faire de nombreux voyages dans beaucoup de pays producteurs de petrol: Texas, Californie, Venesuela, Mexique, Amerique du Sud, Europe, Orient.

2)  MA RETRAITE

J’ai pris ma retraite en 1987. Durant toute ma vie professionnelle j’ai été un PRODUCTEUR d’appareils ou fournisseur de services pour l’industrie petroliere. Il m’a semblé insupportable de devenir uniquement un CONSOMMATEUR pendant ma retraite. Il m’était difficile à mon age de me lancer dans la creation d’entreprises orientées vers la production du pétrole. J’ai décidé alors de me lancer dans la production litteraire, c’est à dire d’écrire des livres sur des évènements historiques m’ayant intéréssé, des biographies d’hommes célèbres et surtout des ouvrages relatant les débuts de l’industrie pétrolière,ainsi que celle des pères fondateurs (Founding Fathers) de cette industrie.

3) MA PRODUCTION LITTERAIRE

Pendant les 20 années de ma retraite consacrée à l’écriture de livres j’ai pu éditer et diffuser 10 ouvrages, c’est à dire un tous les 2 ans.

Je divise mes ouvrages en 3 catégories:

Certains de ces livres sont disponibles à la “Stanford University Library” en Californie ou à la “Library of Congress” à Washington.

4) COMMENTAIRES

La préparation, l’écriture et la publication de ces livres a occupé une trés grande partie de ces 20 années de retraite.  J’ai eprouvé un grand plaisir à les écrire et encore plus lorsqu’ils ont été appréciés par le public.

Mon épouse Rachel par sa constante cooperation ses avis et ses corrections a beaucoup contribué a la parution de ces ouvrages.

Le travail de diffusion par des conférences, des articles de journaux, de presentation à des “Salons du Livre” m’a ouvert des horizons nouveaux, m’a fait connaitre beaucoup de personnalités et d’organismes qui ont enrichi mon existence.

MY RETIREMENT STORY

1)      INTRODUCTION

I am a French engineer. I did all my studies in the Nancy Engineering School at Lorraine.  After completing my Engineering degree, I received a “Doctorat en Sciences” (the equivalent of an American PhD) at the Sorbonne in Paris.

My entire engineering career was devoted to the petroleum industry, working with large oil companies.  My work specialized in Geophysics, which is essential for researching and discovering underground oil deposits.

As a result of my work or as a tourist, I traveled widely in many oil-producing regions: Texas, California, Venezuela, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia.

2)      RETIREMENT

I retired in 1987.  During all my professional life I was an equipment or service PROVIDER to the petroleum industry.  It seemed unbearable to become only a CONSUMER during my retirement. It was difficult at my age to launch the creation of businesses oriented toward the production of oil.  So I decided to get into literary production, that is to say, to write books on historical events that have interested me, biographies of famous men and especially books chronicling the beginnings of the oil industry, as well as the “pères fondateurs” (founding fathers) in the industry.

3)      MY LITERARY PRODUCTION

During the 20 years of my retirement devoted to writing books I have  published and distributed 10 books, that is to say one every two years.

I divide my books into 3 categories:

4) COMMENTS

The preparation, the writing and publication of these books occupied a very large part of the 20 years of my retirement.  I have had great pleasure in writing them and even more when the public has appreciated them.

My wife Rachel, through her constant cooperation, advice and corrections contributed a lot to the publication of these works.

Their dissemination through conferences, journal articles, and presentations at book fairs opened new horizons for me, allowing me to become acquainted with many individuals and organizations that have enriched my life.
