I’m a retired preschool teacher, with degrees in design and developmental psychology. I worked in schools in Boston, Baltimore, Columbus, and San Jose before moving to Santa Cruz, where I was the head teacher at the Cabrillo College Children’s Center and instructor in Early Childhood Education for over 25 years.

I got involved with woodworking by building equipment for my own class-rooms, then started making toys and puzzles to sell. My toy designs have been sold through Childcraft and other school supply catalogues, and I have designed, built, and/or consulted on over forty preschool playgrounds. I’m also the author of five picture books and two books for teachers.

My stained wood mosaics are an extension of the jigsaw puzzles I’ve created. They are made from recycled douglas fir and poplar, with one to three coats of acrylic stains.

The mosaics are currently not for sale.
